In order to increase our students reading and comprehension, i will be doing storybook stem in my library. We will read a storybook and create a STEM craft that goes along with the book. They will use the items to complete the STEM task in groups. Connecting activities to stories will increase comprehension. They will create such things as rocket launchers for mini pumpkins, test strength of objects, and even make new inventions from these stories. Even younger students will be able to complete activities using these materials and tell how they relate to the story we read in library.
