A school library is a lot of things. A place to discover new and exciting books. A place for conducting responsible research for a project. A place for making and tinkering. A place to learn about how to analyze information and practice digital citizenship. A library is a place for talking, working, discussing, collaborating and creating but it is also a place for reading. This project was created to help replace the materials in our reading nook. Our school was built in the 1950s and has drainage issues during severe downpours. During one of those downpours, water leaked into the library and got the carpet and bean bags wet which subsequently molded because it occurred over the summer. These flexible seating options will be used to create a new and improved reading nook for our students to have a comfortable place to read or sit with their friends to discuss books!
