In our classroom, we focus on reaching the individual needs of each of our students on a daily basis. We do a lot of hands-on and individualized activities that allow students to work on very specific areas of need. One simple tool that allows us to quickly assess what these needs are and allows students to work on them collaboratively with other students is quality dry erase markers. They are easy to store, maintain, and use. This is critical for quality classroom management with third grade students. In order to help our students find success, we need to make the most out of every minute in our day. Dry erase markers are a simple tool that allow us to do this. They may seem simplistic or archaic, but students simply love working with them and they are an invaluable resource when used alongside more recent technology. The downside to this resource is that the more they are used, the more they need to be replaced. Our students do not have the funds to continually do this throughout the year. We stretch our resources as far as we can, but eventually they run out. Our students are accomplishing amazing things on a daily basis. They love to track their progress and monitor their own growth. Using these markers in a variety of facets helps them to practice and demonstrate skills in a very tangible way.
