I teach a self-contained EC class in rural Robeson County. Our school is considered a Title I school with a high poverty population with 90% being Native American. All of my students receive free or reduced lunch. Learning needs in my classroom vary thus differentiation is necessary for my diverse learners;such as my tactile, kinesthetic, and visual. The student's disabilities range from blindness, muteness, ADHD, cerebral palsy, Autism and severe seizure disorders. This requires that I work individually with all my students at different times. With varying degrees of physical as well as mental disabilities, instruction must be scaffolded and modified to meet each individual need.
