My students love being able to show their creativity and uniqueness in Art. They are lucky enough to be able to have an art program in their school. They are able to learn through hands on experiences which they might not be able to experience in other content areas. These students love working with their hands and are always so engaged in the learning process with new materials. One material that they have not been able to experience much is kiln fired clay. They are able to eat, or drink out of kiln fired clay! The fired clay will last forever! I would love to give my students the experience of working with clay in every grade level. We would start with pinch pots in Kindergarten and work our way up to vases, vessels, bowls, plates, full tea sets, and sculptures by the time they are in sixth grade art.
