These books will provide my students with options of books at their independent reading levels. This will motivate them to learn the challenging skill of reading and give them reasons to read. Reading about topics you are interested in helps develop vital reading skills that can be generalized to lesser preferred topics. It’s more motivating to learn a hard skill when you are doing it with materials that are preferred. Developing their reading skills will allow my students to participate in general education activities they once were unable to. Becoming stronger, more competent readers will help them succeed in all areas of their lives!
