All of the materials that we are humbly asking to be donated will go towards our cardio kickboxing elective class. We are attempting to create this class by request of many of the students who are tired of the same basic electives being offered. With this class it is our hope that our students will become more active teens in and out of school. The students have already shown a major interest in doing things more hands on and interactive. Many of them have never done anything as physically demanding as cardio kickboxing or understands the sport of kickboxing, but they all are very curious and excited for the opportunity to learn basic kickboxing moves and techniques all while getting a great cardio workout that will hopefully motivate them to seek further involvement in improving their overall physical health. The hand mitts and the kicking pads will be used to help students accurately and safely perform strikes to get them familiar with power speed and accuracy. The bag gloves and shin guards will allow multiple students to perform all striking moves safely without causing harm to themselves. Due to our school being a converted office building we lack an official gym space and sound system. The room that we will use for this class is a smaller space that will benefit from using the Bluetooth speaker to play music to help keep the energy up. It will also echo the buzzer sounding to start and end each workout. These materials will aide in that process and we will be grateful for any contribution to our cause.
