I work with a group of "at risk" preschoolers. They seldom have quality books in their homes. I need good quality books that are durable and that I don't have to be continually replacing. I end up replacing the paperbacks in my classroom library every year or two out of my own pocket. I do not want to refuse to let children handle the books because the books are fragile or falling apart. We all know that good readers have been read to often in their early years. The selection of books I have submitted are the ones I use regularly in the classroom. They are classic, funny, educational and great stories. They reinforce skills like sequencing, rhyme, beginning sound, science and more. Please help me reach my goal of creating a long lasting classroom library that both the students and I will use daily for years to come.
