White boards make learning fun! Students do best with hands on activities that make learning engaging and fun. In small group and whole class activities they can be used for phonics and spelling practice, finding math solutions, and much more! They provide a means for quickly assessing if students have mastered a task or if they need further instruction. I have found that students are more engaged in learning when hands on activities are involved. White boards are easier to erase than conventional pencil on paper, making them more kid-friendly and more fun! Learning can be frustrating for children and even holding the pencil can make the task more laborious. Markers glide easily on the white boards and mistakes can be easily erased. Erasing and reconfiguring their response helps students to accept mistakes a little easier because white boards are more fun. I am trying to teach students that mistakes are ok, they are part of learning. It is easier to feel that way when you don't have to wear down the eraser of your pencil. I am requesting 20 whiteboards so that each student can have their own whiteboard without having to share. I am also requesting 2 sets of markers because let's face it, the kids cannot seem to remember to put the caps on. I am also requesting a dry erase board on wheels that could easily be moved around to accommodate our small group activities. I really like to work with my students in small groups with a high level of interaction. The board I’m requesting is a magnetic dry erase board but will also hold paper so it can be used for making anchor charts. I thank you in advance for your help. I can assure you my children will benefit greatly from your generosity!
