The 11 pedometers will be used everyday during P.E., and throughout the day by my students to track their steps. The project will help my students understand the importance of good health while breaking the cycle of diabeties so dominant in their families. They can see their small steps add up to fight a major killer one step at a time. They can utilize the numbers calculated to transition to math, re-enforcing graphing and data collection skills. Students will make real life connections and also be able to teach family members about the importance of good health and exercise in their lives.
