I am new to teaching Music. My classroom does not have any Orff Instruments. Xylophones would benefit all students by enabling them to experience and create music in a safe, supportive environment. With xylophones, certain bars, or notes, can be removed so that the students will not make a "bad" sound. Instant success! Students in my classroom would also use the xylophones to respond to literature, therefore enhancing their comprehension skills. They would play notes and rhythms emulating certain sounds or characters in a story. My students will be very excited to play xylophones. For some, it may be just the motivation they need to come to school and actively participate.
