This year we are implementing flexible seating into our classroom. We will be adding yoga balls, yoga mats, standing desks, high stools and tables, rugs, bean bag chairs, pillows, etc. The idea is that every student has a different learning style. As their teacher, I want to empower them to choose which seat best meets their needs. Students will no longer be tied to sitting at a desk while they learn. They will have different options to help them feel comfortable. The results are an increase in focus, an environment that welcomes collaboration, and an ownership in their own learning journey.

About my class
