Many flexible seating options simulate students’ sense of touch. This can help students focus and process information. Flexible seating is especially helpful for students with ADHD, ADD, and Autism. I currently have a classroom model that has been around for decades – where students are sitting stationary in uncomfortable chairs all day with little chance for movement. I wish to add Hokki Stools to my classroom to allow students this chance of movement, without having to disrupt their peers. Hokki Stools are ergonomically designed for students to move while they are sitting down. This movement provides both physical and mental benefits to my students. Students will be able to focus on their academics while releasing their extra energy wiggling on their chairs. They will no longer have to focus on sitting still. Having Hokki Stools in the classroom allows my students varied choices for seating and will stimulate their natural need to move. With these stools, they will become more engaged in their work. I desire to create an environment where all students feel like they have the tools they need to be successful.
