Many kindergarten students come to school without the social and emotional skills needed to succeed in the real world. They have not learned how to communicate with others and work together. Play is important for students to learn and practice these skills. A kitchen is an engaging way for students to learn how to share, take turns, and communicate their wants and needs. I'm moving out of a shared classroom and into my own classroom with no play kitchen. I picked this kitchen because it also has a clock. They can change the time on the clock to learn about reading a clock and different times of the day.
