These materials, pencils, the Learn and Store Cart stand, and date stamp will help my students tell their everyday stories. Writing can be daunting for most primary students but I believe that these materials will be a gateway into changing their lives. The materials will help foster independent learners. My students will take ownership of their work and we can have a classroom filled with authors. Each material has a specific purpose, for example, the Learn and Store Cart stand will be the center of instruction. During writer’s workshop, I am going to use the white board to conduct mini lessons. All of our stories will jump off the white board and spark a topic to be written on paper. The date stamp is used to show when a child has finished his or her story and is ready for the next step. Students will have a choice of the type of paper they will use, blank, story, or lined paper. When my student’s stories are published, writing will go from daunting to rewarding.
