Middle School students in Maine receive instruction during a week-long experiential learning endeavor called "Viking Voyage". This time serves as a break from the traditional classroom experience for students and staff, where we work closely with the community and create hands-on projects that will fulfill a variety of student interests. These supplies will help my students create magnificent paper-mache sculptures, acrylic paintings, recycled mosaics, and other art projects that they are interested in. Some projects will be installed in the school and around the community at special exhibitions. Students will have the opportunity to research, explore, create, and design their own independent projects. Inspiration will come from their imaginations, team collaboration, viewing local galleries and exhibits of student work, and also from the natural surroundings. Our middle school south campus is in need of some personalization, and much of what the students create this week will decorate our halls.
