Due to being displaced from Hurricane Harvey and sharing a school with high school students these supplies will be very beneficial to the students. The supplies will aid in providing better care for the students although I am running a nurse clinic out of a storage closet. The supplies will aid in teaching mechanisms and allowing students to remain in good health while in school. The refrigerator is for medication storage and drink storage for my diabetic patient that requires insulin and juice for diabetic management. The microwave is for me to heat towels for warm cloths for headaches and other pain sites. The iPad will be used for computer access and to provide teaching material to students for health education. The iPad case will prevent damage to the iPad. The plastic cups are for medication administration; the first aid kits and bags are for emergency care for the students during fire drills, etc. The Ace wraps are to wrap sprained ankles prior to students being seen by a physician. A lot of the students are interested in being in the health care field in the future and I want to direct them in the right path. Also, the hand sanitizer will be used for proper hand hygiene for students, and Caviwipes and Lysol wipes are used to disinfect equipment after use. These materials will make a difference in the students' lives by allowing me to utilze these supplies for them and teaching basic health care tips. I believe that nursing is about providing compassionate care and with this project I am able to show that to my students.
