The LEGO Boost Creative Toolbox 17101 Building and Coding Kit has 847 pieces. Lego Move Hub has five simple functional robots and it allows students to program them with easy to use coding blocks on a computer. The robots include: Vernie the robot is over 10” high, Frankie the cat is over 6” tall, M.T.R.4 is over 4” high, 9” long and 5” wide, Guitar4000 is over 1” high, 16” long and 5” wide and The Autobuilder is 10” high, 7” long and 6” wide. It includes a LEGO Move Hub with Bluetooth connectivity, interactive motor and Color and Distance Sensor.
With just a little background, the students can explore the coding necessary to make to make the robots move. My purpose for introducing STEAM into my classroom is to get student thinking about their own education and realizing that they can do anything they want if they put forth the effort and have the desire.
I want it to be a place to learn about the world and the opportunities that are available to my students beyond the boundaries of the small community our school resides in. Robots are just another tool of exploration but a powerful way to explore technology.
