Flexible seating provides students with options! It allows them to easily pair up or work in small groups. It gives students the option to choose which spot is best for them to focus and process information! In my classroom I have seen the benefits of flexible sitting during whole group, small group and independent learning! Throughout the day I allow students to decide where and how they want to sit to learn. Students get to choose a spot that is most comfortable for them; comfortable students tend to be more relaxed and focused. I have also seen how it motivates them to keep their favorite spots.
