A classroom set of iPads will allow my students to better retain critical information by empowering them to put their knowledge into action. My students love being able to share their knowledge; to our school, to our community, with others in the United States, or worldwide! Putting an iPad into the hands of my learners grants them the power to be in charge of their creative expression and learning. I am hoping to dull their sense of merely being a content consumer and rather become a creator of content to share with others. Readily available iPads can allow for more STEAM focused projects to display new math principles, vocabulary in literacy, taking virtual field trips in social studies, or creating virtual science experiments. Giving students iPads to use shows them I respect them as a learner and expect them to apply themselves. An iPad will also give my students a new sense of responsibility and excitement about their performance in school. I want my students to experience the incredible world outside of our rural Wisconsin town, an iPad would greatly help achieve this desire for my students.
