Many students lack the time and/or motivation to read for pleasure. They look at reading as something that they have to do for school but hardly ever consider it a fun activity. I want to give my students the opportunity to read for fun with no additional work assigned other than to simply enjoy reading. My library of "libros en español" will include a variety of themes and levels so that students can find a book that they enjoy. Having success in comprehending these novels (written for Spanish learners) will greatly increase students' confidence, motivation, and proficiency. The books that I am requesting have been carefully written by leaders in the field of foreign language teaching.
