I chose these specific items to assist my students with their areas of difficulty in Math based on assessment and data collected. As a Pre-K teacher I understand that this is most of my students first experience with numbers, counting, shapes, patterns, sorting and making tens. It is my goal to make Math and Learning as fun as possible while getting my student ready for Kindergarten! All of these manipulatives will aide in making this happen. I plan to use them during free choice time, large group time and small group time. These manipulatives will also used used in the afternoon for our specific intervention groups. The items listed will help with the following objectives: Uses number concepts, Quantifies, Connects numbers with their quantities, Understands base ten, Applies properties of mathematical operations and relationships, Applies number combinations and mental number strategies in mathematical operations, Understands and describes shapes, Demonstrates knowledge of patterns and Classifies objects by multiple characteristics.
