My students need these iPads for a number of reasons. However, a couple of the biggest reasons are for helping those students that struggle with physically writing. Typing on an iPad is considerably easier for students who struggle to hold and write with a pencil. Not only is saving and turning in their work easier on an iPad but it also helps the teacher to save work samples for their educational reviews. Another is reinforcing good behavior with their use. We can use the iPads as a way to encourage good behaviors in the classrooms. I work in a Title 1 school district which means that my students do not come from a lot of money. Parents work hard and are involved in the students education but can't afford extras like iPads. Additionally, classrooms don't have enough iPads for students use. My classroom unfortunately has no iPads available.
