My students often say their brain grew because they've "learned so much today!" But as a teacher I am not able to hear the thinking of every student for each segment of the day, or give them the perfect resource on their level. By providing students with tablets to record their learning I can see exactly where each student has excelled and where students need extra support. Students will be able to learn that using technology isn't just to play games, but to share their experiences and expertise with others, which will lay a solid foundation for their communication skills beyond the classroom setting. Using tablets the students will be able to take photographs of their work, label their ideas, create videos of how they solved a problem, and bring their writing to life! Additionally, I am able to share their online portfolio with their families. By including their families I can improve the academic conversations they have at home also!
