After being displaced due to Hurricane Harvey, my students have not been able to sustain their foundational math skills that are crucial to developing new grade level math standards. Due to the loss and lack of technology both at school and at home, my students will greatly benefit from the use of ipads. Technology is the now and the future. My students need as much exposure to technology as possible in a structured and purposeful fashion that only a classroom can be provide. Research shows that math students that spend 10 to 15 minutes daily will increase their math skills tremendously in comparison to students with no practice. A major reason for the ipads will be to use Reflex Math, IXl, Kahoot, and other fun and engaging math development programs daily as well as building communication and creativity skills through presentations. These products will be created through Project Based Learning and use of ipads during small group instruction.
