My 7th grade students are learning about chemical reactions this year. The next section is about heat and matter. The activities require students to measure subbstances, heating substances, and recording the temperatures. My students have been so engaged this year with the experiments and I do not want to lose their interests just because we do not have the supplies we need. I would really love to get hot plates and thermometers to have students complete experiments in small groups instead of just watching me complete the labs. I think that the students would really benefit from doing hands on activities and actually get a chance to do experiments in a science classroom.
