My 75 students will be working to integrate social studies and art. We will be studying art in the 1890-1920 during immigration, World War 1, and World War 2. For each unit in our 5th grade Social Studies curriculum our goal is to add at least one original, authentic art piece. My students are lucky to have access to water colors, but one thing that we are missing that will really make our project pop is watercolor paper. For sketching we would love to have some high quality drawing paper. My students will work to achieve high quality art work, while also building their portfolio to try out of our academic arts middle school, where they can further their visual arts education.
