Numerous studies have shown that students with access to a listening library develop a greater interest in reading, improved literacy skills, comprehension and increased vocabulary. It's my hope to finalize my listening center with individual cd players with headphones where my students can listen to authentic beautifully written stories. Listening centers involve the use of cd players with headphones to read along with the accompanying picture book. My students are in need of the cd players and headphones to use during Listening to Reading station. If my students had these items they could independently listen to and follow along with books located in my listening library.
