Claves will help students at every grade level understand rhythm--which connects to math learning. Recorders will help 3rd and 4th grades learn the notes in the treble clef, which improves student focus and reading skills. It has been proven time and again that children who succeed in music succeed in other subjects. They learn about the science of sound, the math of measures, historical facts behind musical selections, and new words and phrases. By providing these instruments, I can be a more effective teacher when I partner with their classroom teachers. Students get more enjoyment from music when they can play their own instrument.

About my class
