During occupational therapy sessions, I help my students learn strategies so that they can make the most out of their education. These materials will help get my students ready for learning in all subject areas. Every item is important and will help my students throughout their school year. Our little scholars with special need some extra resources to help their learning. Many sensory integration items are needed to either calm their bodies before sitting for classwork, or alert their bodies to prepare for classwork. For example, a student who is having a hard time staying in their seat due to hyperactivity can benefit from deep pressure sensory integration to calm their body. The deep pressure vest and sensory sock can help with this. Many students benefit from vestibular sensory input, and because I do not have space for a swing, the Sit and Spin is a good alternative. In addition to sensory needs, my students need some extra resources for fine motor skills in order for them to manipulate their classroom tools. The pencil grips, games and scratch paper will help with this.
