The " I'm a Superhero" game challenge is a program aimed at raising scores, improving behavior and maximizing our children's potential. The program is designed to make kids aware of good behavior, make them aware of trying hard in class and raising their own grades and scores on tests. Each individual child is in charge of their own game. They will give themselves a point for every positive thing they do. They can also give their friends a positive point when they help them or are friendly to them. Teachers of course can give class a point or individuals points as they see fit. The pedometers are instrumental in allowing the program to work. The pedometers are small enough to keep on your desk but are able to keep up a tally of points earned or given. They will give kids a concrete and visible count of their hard work and effort. There are several reasons for the Superhero concept. First, the character of a Superhero should never be questioned, they are kind and helpful, they are tough and resilient, they stand up for others and they are respected by all. Second, they are an alter ego of their main character. The masks are to give the kids the full superhero concept. They will design their own and give themselves a name. The masks will give them the feeling they are a superhero and remind them daily that they are. This program is complex with many moving parts but if successful the benefits are far reaching. I believe this program can totally revolutionize our school. The benefits for today and tomorrow are exponential.
