This school year, we received brand new Apple iPads for student use. We all know how important technology is, especially after a world-wide pandemic demonstrated the importance of accessibility to technology while we were teaching and learning virtually. My students love working on the tablets throughout the day, but unfortunately, we were not provided with new headphones and many of my students have not been able to purchase their own. The headphones requested in this project will meet the need of being able to hear lessons, play learning games and listen to read alouds and videos while working on devices. This is essential for my English learners and non-readers to maximize effectiveness of virtual instruction. The bags requested in this project meet the need of providing storage and easy accessibility to technology throughout the day.My students do not have room in their desks to store their tablets with the cases on them, and collecting the tablets and distributing them several times throughout the day is very time consuming. The bags will also help establish and facilitate routines as students will be expected to bring their iPads home and back to school each day.
