My students are from a diverse ethnic and socioeconomic background. They are excited about learning, but are sometimes frustrated by the complexity of the material. I want to move more and more away from teacher centered to student centered instruction by employing collaborative learning activities that allow them to learn from one another. My High School is an alternative high school in California and many of our students are ethnic minorities (primarily Asian and Latino). We have a relatively high student retention and matriculation rate and many of our students go on to higher education.
