The Boys II Men Male Empowerment Program is a unique character education program designed to empower juvenile offenders who reside at a Youth Development Center in Concord, N.C. The program provides a ten-week curriculum of self-improvement modules geared towards reducing the risk of the juveniles to become repeat offenders, thus reducing recidivism rates in the correctional system. I am asking for a variety of supplies and materials including masking tape, copy paper and binders. The materials needed in this request will provide for the development of curriculum guides for students to refer to throughout and after the program, along with materials needed for brainstorming sessions that allow the students to communicate effectively. Topics covered include: Improving Self-Esteem, Health & Wellness, Healthy Relationships, Effective Decision-Making Skills, Male Empowerment, Etiquette, How to Prepare for Re-Entry into the Community, Community Service & Volunteerism, Character Education, and Putting it All Together for a successful release.
