Reading is the most vital part of a child's education. It is the foundation of every subject. I want to provide my students with resources that will encourage a love for literacy. Students are able to browse our classroom library during different periods throughout the day; however, the selection is quite limited. The books that we hope to receive through this grant will be an essential addition to our classroom library. All of them will appeal to my students' interests and ability levels. These books range from biographies, to informational texts about animals, and hilarious interactive read-alouds. The things that a child can discover by simply opening a book can spark their imagination and creativity in a way that nothing else can. These books will enable them to build comprehension, dig deep into the text, gain a sense of perspective, and as an added bonus, share a love for reading.
