The materials that were asked for will enable me to reach more learners. Everyone does not learn the same way, and all learners are not on the same reading level. The white boards and markers will allow for the kinesthetic learner to interact in the small group or whole group setting and have the ability to hold his or her answer up instead of just using plain paper and pencil. This action often engages the reluctant student to actively participate in class. In addition, this allows me to see and understand what the student is thinking. The leveled readers kits allow for me to provide instructional practice to students on their independent reading level. Also, students are more likely to be successful with reading skills, building confidence in their abilities. This will allow me to close learning gaps quicker as the school year progresses.
