Students will utilize the Amazon Fire tablets to access online read-aloud stories, phonics games, and for Internet research lessons. Utilizing tablets, instead of bulky desktop computers with mice, will make access to the technology easier, more fun, less stressful, and more engaging. All students, but particularly our struggling readers, will be excited about tackling literary games, stories, and activities, that will build their skills, and scaffold their learning. I see additional potential benefits for our primary (K-2) students, since the old, bulky desktop computers have slow processing speed, non-working headphone ports, and are not touch-capable. All students will be excited about the concept of utilizing the tablets, and all will benefit immensely.
