Students will learn to utilize various techniques employed by famous artists to create their own art work. Since the theme of my classroom is connecting to the world, I feel it's very important to show how art reflects our perceptions of that world. For example, students will learn to use acrylic and watercolor paints when studying famous artists such as Van Gogh and Monet. It's important that students have the right brushes, paints and paper when painting with different mediums. I will also use books geared toward third graders to explore the lives and techniques of a variety of artists.
