Social Studies and reading go hand-in-hand. With the majority of End of Year state exams focusing more on a student's ability to comprehend reading in Social Studies rather than on dates and names, it is vital that students become familiar with historical context in multiple content areas. This project is designed to beginning an in class library of class set of historical fiction texts to use as literary enrichment in my middle school Social Studies classroom.
