Three students with IEPs from three different classes will use regular classroom desks for two weeks while their behaviors are charted. Students will then use the standing desks for one week without behaviors charted in order to allow for the novelty to wear off. Students will then use the standing desks for another two weeks while their behaviors are charted. Assessments, however, will be on-going. Students will need a minimum of a 50% improvement in their individual criteria for the standing desks to be considered beneficial for their grade-level peers in reading and math ability. If these desks prove successful, and I believe they will, we will add more desks as money permits. All of my Learning Support/Emotional Support students can learn. These desks will help improve their educational levels by accommodating their disabilities so that they can focus on learning. Our school cannot afford these desks... please help our kids.
