Our school is located in an urban area with a high poverty population. For many students, school is the only source of consistency in their lives. Our goal is to make learning rewarding to them and give them the tools to fulfill their potential! Many of our students are also English Language Learners coming from over fifty different countries. While many of these children's parents want to help them achieve in reading, they also do not speak English and cannot help their children in they way they desire. Our first graders are an energetic, enthusiastic group of kids who seem to be insatiable when it comes to reading and exploring new books. Our desire is to make reading and literacy accessible to students no matter how little English they speak.
