The portable DVD players will provide another mode for lesson delivery. One more layer supporting and reinforcing their learning. Having these tools available to my students will allow them to freely watch lessons and progress through the program's curriculum at their own pace with support from me. Students of all abilities need to take ownership of their learning by capitalizing on the opportunities provided. Having the portable DVD players at their disposal will provide them with individualized support that will assist in closing the learning gaps in their basic math skills. Many of my students have difficulties with encoding and due to this they require repetition at double to triple the rate of the typical student. With these DVD players they can watch and re-watch as much as they need to grasp and recall the lesson objective. This tool will allow them flexibility, individualization and put them in charge of their learning.
