Students will write a puppet play then design their puppets and perform their shows for the elementary students. This is will help create interest in the younger grades and help entice them into wanting to learn about theatre. It will foster creativity in the classroom. Students will be strengthening their writing skills along with their performance goals. Students will get the opportunity to write a one-act show, incorporate rich characters, create a puppetry set, and then create puppets to represent the characters. The elementary students will benefit by viewing a student written production based on a pressing social issue and be involved with a talk back session with the high school students.
