Right now our outside play equipment consists of some beat up old bikes, a couple of broken cozy coops and the swings and climbing structure that are part of the school. I think that having a water table and a sand table will allow the children to work together while exploring different mediums. Some of our children are learning to stand and these tables will be filled with materials that will make them want to try to stand to get to them. Other children are learning to work together and playing with sand and water will be a great way to help them learn to share in an enjoyable way. These sensory tables will be the beginning of what I hope will become a lovely outside learning environment. The children love learning outside and these tables will really add to their experience.
