Hello!! We have begun a new program in our school geared toward students with emotional and behavioral issues. There are times when my students need to decompress or deescalate, and also times when they need a place to go when things get too overwhelming. That's where I come in! My students can come to my classroom and "vent" or "regroup" and then head back to class. Studies have shown that students learn best when they are in the general education setting with their peers and the general education curriculum; instead of a student getting sent to the Assistant Principals' Office, s/he can come to my room, "regroup," and then hopefully get back to class. As you can see, my Sensory Room/Deescalation Room/Calming Room is not ready to help any of my students. DonorsChoose.org seems absolutely AMAZING, so I thought I'd give it a try! Thank you for any support you can give to my students and my classroom!
