There are many ways having digital cameras in class will help integrate media arts into my core curriculum. Math integration, science integration, and language arts integration are some examples of how cameras will be used. In math, we will take photos of things around the classroom or outdoors, and identify their geometry features. In science, we will use cameras to help us take pictures of local wildlife and use the iNaturalist app to help us identify and compare and contrast plants and animals. In language arts, we will use cameras to record original dramas and plays performed in small groups. Using cameras in the classroom will allow my students to practice 21st century skills such as collaboration, communication, creativity, character, critical thinking, and citizenship. Having cameras in the classroom will open up a world of possibilities for my kids.
