As technology is rapidly infiltrating education, students without internet and/or computers at home are finding themselves at a disadvantage in the classroom. When projects are assigned, they cannot complete proper research. Many of my LD students, because of their disabilities, are more successful when they can type their responses in class. Standardized tests are now computerized and many of my students don't have enough experience on the computers to properly type their responses. Additionally, Students today are just more comfortable with technology as a vehicle to learn, and having a set of Chromebooks in the classroom will make for a high interest and more exciting learning environment.
