My students love to work together on projects and breakout boxes are a great, new way for them to work together. Exciting breakout boxes work a lot like the escape rooms that have become so popular with adults. The students are presented with a challenging problem in a subject area to solve and find clues throughout the problem that lead them to the combinations to different locks. Once they open all of the different locks, they can open the breakout box to find their solution! These projects encourage collaboration, problem solving and perseverance, all of which are important life skills for them as they get older.
