We have a beautiful private patio off our classroom that has the potential to be a great outdoor learning area if we can get some outdoor seating and shade. Many of our students don't have outdoor spaces at home, so it would be nice to utilize our patio and give them a dose of nature every day! We are hoping to get 4 picnic tables, two large umbrellas with stands, a calming water fountain, and Buddha Board for some water painting. For about 2 months of the year, our classrooms get REALLY hot, so it will be so nice to sit outside under the shade of our new umbrellas. With your help, our patio will provide a beautiful oasis for learning. The furniture and umbrellas will provide enough seating for art projects, class parties, and outdoor lessons. The picnic tables we are asking for can seat up to 4 students which is perfect for those who would like their own space or for those working in partners or groups. During independent work periods, students will be able to spread out and have more seating options, all while listening to the calming water fountain in our natural environment. I can't wait to see them reading their books on our patio in the fresh air! This will be so helpful next year when I have a larger class size. Thank you for considering helping our first grade classroom take our learning outside.
