Our school has adopted the Lucy Calkins Reading Workshop program. With this program each student needs 10 nonfiction books on their reading level in their book boxes at all times. This is extremely difficult because my students need 200 books a week. I only have 25 appropriately leveled texts in my classroom library. My students currently have to share nonfiction books and I have maxed out the number of books I can check out from both the school and community library. These nonfiction texts will be used in both reading workshop and science for research! Please help us become "Super Smart about Nonfiction Topics!"
